I love capturing the details of everyday nature that most people do not see. My subject matter being flowers + I enjoy being able to provide a lasting representation that goes beyond fresh flowers. My inspiration stems from the meaning behind flowers, + what they mean culturally/represent universally. Flowers, no matter where you are located, are a form of gesture expressing emotions + sentiments. Often, they are associated with affection, celebration, sympathy + even apologies.
Additionally, some historical artwork that inspires me includes Baroque + Dutch paintings + gothic architecture. I create my artwork using dried flowers + casting them into pigmented epoxy. I encourage my viewers to explore my work up close to appreciate the intricacies of nature on a deeper level. |
