Jasmyn Marie is a Los Angeles-based preservation artist who creates timeless botanical art pieces that blend natural beauty with contemporary craft. Her artistic journey began as a deeply personal response to her mother's diagnosis with cancer, inspiring her to capture the fleeting beauty of flowers and nature as a form of preservation. This process led Jasmyn to reflect on the delicate balance between life and death, as she saw parallels between the impermanence of flowers and the fragility of human existence. The act of preserving flowers became a way for her to freeze time, offering a sense of permanence in contrast to the inevitable cycles of life.
Inspired by fashion, architecture, and the romanticism of Old Dutch paintings, Jasmyn’s work explores the delicate interplay between nature’s elegance and modern design. Her unique techniques play with light and depth, drawing the viewer’s eye across every petal and stem, encouraging closer engagement with the organic intricacies of the natural world.
Jasmyn invites viewers to experience the hidden nuances of flowers and celebrate the beauty of nature in an entirely new way.
